1st Wamboin Scout Group News
|
The 1st Wamboin Scout Group has provided a range of outdoor activities for local boys and girls for over 20 years. In recent times, our scouts have demonstrated their outstanding skills by regularly winning the local District Standards Camp, an annual competition involving local scout groups, run over 3 days in Kowen Forest.
After a very brief break, the 1st Wamboin Scout Troop is again meeting on Monday evenings (7:00 - 9:00 pm), at the Wamboin Community Hall, and is now on the search for boys and girls, aged between 10 and 15 years, to improve the viability of the group. The focus of the Scout Section is on the development of outdoor skills such as bushcraft and pioneering (construction), through in-hall activities (on Monday evenings) and weekend camps (both summer and winter).
If you have an interest in having fun while developing your outdoor skills, come and see the Scouts.
Joey Scout Mob and Cub Scout Pack
Our Joey Scout Mob (boys and girls aged between 6 and 8) and Cub Scout Pack (boys and girls aged between 8 and 10) are still in recess, awaiting adult volunteers to take on the respective leadership roles. If you have an interest in helping the youth in our community, by becoming a youth leader in the Scouting Movement, please contact Pete Harrison to discuss these opportunities.
