Bywong Community Association would like to invite all interested people to discuss a plan for further development of the Greenways, the public access ways available in Bywong and Wamboin for walking, riding, etc.
With an expanding population in this area and roads becoming busier, public access to bushland for walkers, horse riders and as wildlife corridors, has become much more important.
The idea for a Greenways network was first floated in 1985, with the pilot network of tracks eventuating in 1995. These are notionally owned by Palerang Council, however, all the practical work for development and maintenance is done by local volunteers. The original set of pilot tracks (the current network) was done with a view to having more possible tracks. These have not yet been developed and this meeting will offer a chance to renew the planning for Greenways.
So, be part of the community discussion to have your say about what could be done to extend the existing network and discuss how to develop the Greenways network further. We would like to invite interested people to form a working group to drive progress, at the conclusion of the meeting
