Bywong Hall and the Les Reardon Reserve

Information about the facilities

The Les Reardon Reserve and Bywong Hall are made available for the benefit of  all residents as a community recreational and meeting facility. The facility is owned by the Palerang Shire Council, and a committee of Council and local users maintains the facilities - the Les Reardon Reserve Facility Management Committee. The membership of the Committee includes representatives from the Bywong Community Association, Geary’s Gap Pony Club, the local Landcare Group and other residents of Bywong. 

The Reserve is used by the local Pony Club and is the venue for the Bywong Community Car Boot Sale which is held on the last Sunday of the month of March. The Hall itself is available for hire and many of the Bywong Community activities are held there such as the annual Trivia Night and the Bywong Car Boot Sale.

The Hall has cooking facilities and there is ample parking at the rear of the building. The capacity of the Hall is around 50 for seated dinners and meetings and 75-100 for standing functions.

Booking information

The hiring of the Hall is done through the Les Reardon Reserve Management Committee.

•  Current hiring charge is $85 per half day, and $140 for full day hire.  No hiring is permitted after midnight. Clean up must be done before midnight. More information can be found on the booking form.
•  Use of the dressage arena for riding instruction, located to the North-West of the Hall, may be arranged directly with the Geary's Gap Pony Club. The community arena is available for anyone to use without booking or fee, and is located South-East of the Hall.  

A refundable bond is payable at the time of booking, $150 for half day hire and $300 for full day hire. Should any cleaning, repairs or replacement of broken items be required at the end of the hire period, that part of the bond required to pay for such cleaning or damage will not be refunded.

Fees for organisations using the Hall for regular meetings may be negotiated.  Further information about the terms and conditions can be found here.
